These days, in conjunction with appointments for fixed-term contracts, the situation in many provinces is becoming hot. The heavy cuts in staff and related to ATA amalgamations of classes, the abolition of certain institutions and especially the reduction time expected from the "Gelmini reforms" leaving tens of thousands of people without jobs. Someone has called it the worst dismissal ever occurred in the Italian Republic. The apparent immobility of labor unions, often poorly attente alla situazione del personale precario, crea uno stato di frustrazione ed esasperazione difficilmente controllabile. A nome degli almeno 20 mila precari che già quest'anno perderanno il loro lavoro, e delle altre decine di migliaia che seguiranno, vi chiediamo un segnale forte, una presenza chiara e sensibile sul territorio e delle azioni di contrasto e di protesta dure e ferme. Se questo non accadrà, un'ampia fetta di lavoratori (circa 1/3 del personale della scuola) sfuggirà dal controllo del sindacato, sfogando la sua rabbia in modo imprevedibile. A testimonianza della vostra onestà e professionalità, vi chiediamo quindi di esserci vicini in questo momento difficile, per guadagnare nuovamente la fiducia dei lavoratori precari.
